MigraCanada: We help you make it possible
The program is ideal for skilled workers who have work experience outside of Canada and are looking to settle in the country. It’s an excellent option for those who do not have prior Canadian work experience but possess skills and professional training that are highly valued in the Canadian job market.
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is aimed at individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada permanently and have skilled work experience in in-demand professions. This program is part of the Express Entry system and allows foreign professionals to obtain permanent residency if they meet certain criteria.

1. Check Your Eligibility
Before starting the process, you must ensure you meet the minimum requirements, which include at least one year of skilled work experience, a diploma that meets Canadian standards (assessed by an Educational Credential Assessment – ECA), and proof of English or French language proficiency.
2. Create an Express Entry Profile
The first step in the process is to create a profile in the Express Entry system. To do this, you’ll need to provide detailed information about:
Skilled Work Experience: Specify your work experience in an occupation classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) categories 0, A, or B.
Education: Detail your education level and ensure you’ve completed the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to validate your foreign studies.
Language Test Results: Upload the results of a recognized language test, such as IELTS or TEF, for English or French respectively.
Other Details: You’ll need to enter information about your age, marital status, number of dependents, and other personal aspects that can affect your score in the points system.
3. Receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score
Once your profile is created, you’ll receive a score based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS evaluates a series of key factors:
4. Enter the Candidate Pool
Once you’ve completed your profile, you’ll automatically enter the Express Entry candidate pool. Your profile will remain active for up to 12 months, during which time you’ll participate in the regular selection rounds conducted by the Canadian government. Only profiles with the highest scores will be selected to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
5. Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
If your profile is selected in an Express Entry round, you’ll receive an ITA to apply for permanent residence. Selections are generally made every two weeks, and candidates with the highest CRS scores are chosen.
6. Submit Your Permanent Residence Application
After receiving the ITA, you’ll have 60 days to complete and submit your permanent residence application. In this phase, you’ll need to provide a series of important documents, including:
7. Application Processing
The Canadian government is committed to processing applications submitted through Express Entry within an average of 6 months. During this time, authorities will review all submitted documentation and conduct necessary security and medical checks.
8. Receive Permanent Residence
If your application is approved, you’ll receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR), which will allow you to travel to Canada and obtain permanent resident status upon your arrival.
Final Recommendations:
t’s important to correctly prepare all necessary documents and review your profile to maximize your CRS score. It’s also advisable to improve your English or French language proficiency, as this can significantly increase your points and chances of being invited to apply.
